Safeguarding our plates: Preventing Food Crime

Our speaker at the Breakfast is Professor Louise Manning. As well has her work as Professor of Sustainable Agri Food Systems at Lincoln University, Louise is one of the most prominent thought leaders on the issue of food crime.

She has worked closely with the Food Standards Agency and commercial organisations on their strategies to tackle this issue, and published many papers on aspects of food crime and food defence including the threat of ransomware in the food supply chain.

Amongst the issues Louise will be covering will be:

  • What is food crime and what is the extent of the issue in the food sector?
  • Examples of how food crime occurs – ingredient contamination, extortion, documentation fraud, counterfeit products, unfit foods etc
  • The future of food crime – is there more risk if we go digital?
  • What ‘front line’ and ‘practical’ steps can be taken to identify and reduce food crime?

We do hope you'll join us for some of the best networking in the Food and Drink sector and, of course, an informative and thought provoking presentation.
